Hawk is the last new character introduced to the Sonic Wings series. He is intended to be the main character of Sonic Wings Assault, taking the place of Blaster Keaton in the previous games. "Hawk" is a pseudonym, and his real name is never revealed.[1] Hawk is the only Sonic Wings character whose appearance differs between the Japanese and US versions of the games.

In the Japanese version of Sonic Wings Assault, Hawk has long white hair worn in a ponytail and tied with a red ribbon. His eyes are a vivid green, and he has prominent canine teeth. In fact, the game manual describes his "cat-like" eyes and sharp teeth as his "charm points"! Hawk has two small silver hoop earrings in his left ear. He wears a tight blue shirt, white pants, and brown leather straps around his neck, legs, ankles, and wrists.

In the US version of the game, Aero Fighters Assault, Hawk has deep blue eyes, a straight and rather large nose, and golden-brown hair, which he wears spiky but combed back. He also has a prominent widow's peak. Hawk wears a leather jacket with a red shirt under it. This version of Hawk bears a strong resemblance to Blaster Keaton, and one fan theory suggests that Hawk is intended to be Blaster's younger brother Zapper shown in previous Sonic Wings games.

The character of Hawk was originally intended to be the son of Randy, Captain Silver's lost war comrade. This version of Hawk was going to be strongly attached to Silver, apparently as a surrogate father figure. However, Hawk's design was changed, and this plot line was abandoned.[2]

Sonic Wings Assault[]

Hawk was working hard as a trainee in the Project Blue Aircraft Unit. He was trying to keep his competitive nature under control... He worked harder than anyone else in his class to improve his skills. Thanks to his efforts, he was always top of his class.

His instructor's favorite phrase was, "You're still just a little kid!" Hawk hated it.

"If I ever get the chance, I'll save the world and make him recognize my abilities!" That has become Hawk's dream. Now the world is in crisis.

"I'm invincible!" Hawk says, overcoming the opposition of those around him and taking off...

Sonic Wings Assault strategy guide

Hawk is the youngest member of Project Blue, serving as an apprentice on its combat team. He is both brilliant and a bit arrogant due to his youth and great abilities. The game manual describes him as being cheerful but "hot-blooded" and hating to lose. His motivation for participating is to prove himself. In the US version of the game, he is cocky and rather sarcastic, and he most often speaks in stereotypical surfer slang.

Like Volk, Hawk prefers air-to-air combat. The game manual states that as a wingman, Hawk is a "good guy" who cares about his allies, and will cover for them if they go into combat.

Hawk is voiced by Tsutomu Takayama in the Japanese version and Matt Edwards in the US version.
